Whacker's gratuitous media images

Eye Candy This was done by Michael B. Johnson (wave@media.mit.edu) using Pixar Typestry, ECGems Looks, and Adobe PhotoShop. This was a combination of his first two Typestry pictures, and took less than an hour from conception to completion. Two pictures were rendered with two variations of the same Look, and then PhotoShop was used to rubber stamp the best bits into one picture.

Glowing Coke Can An imaginary coke can - this one merely had the colors inverted but it has this real cool glow effect.

Jim Inscore helped with this! This is the infamous coke can transformed by me and Jim Inscore, we had no idea what we were doing with a program with no manual, but it looks cool anyway.

Psychedelic Rust This is a coke can rusted by letting other windows hose the colormap on my Mac

YACC - Yet Another Crazy Coke Can That last one was so much fun I had to do it again.

One more time! This is the last one, I promise!

I can't stop!!!! All right, so I lied.

Warhol Coke Cans This is three coke cans, two of which are imaginary - note the lemon on the middle one, I could have done a better job on the lettering, but at least it sort of curves around the can.

The Wall This is either really boring or you're doing something illegal. Stop it now! Worth looking at though if your brain is in an alpha state, or if the right side is in control at this time.

Squid Thing All I can say about this is that it is some kind of squid thing that looks really cool - I can't even remember if this is computer generated, or some kind of real mollusk - it looks cool in grey scale too!

Abstract Flower This is a picture of a flower manipulated by the "Pointillize" Photoshop filter on a Mac.

Calvin and Hobbes! You can also see the Cathy cartoon from the other side of the paper! Oops!

Color mania Shows what you can do with a gaussian matrix transformation on the color, and some random rgb color correction gone astray.

Yowzer! Here's even more zaniness with color.

Hack Shop This shows a drop shadow constructed from a picture of coins, as if the coin picture was under the background, and the background was peeled away in the shape of the letters. The color between the bars are constructed using a gradient.

Opaque Paper This is sort of a 3d semi-transparent effect spraying the bars on top with a spray paint tool (even though it looks like they are on bottom)

Cloudy Stuff This is a similar effect, kind of puffy.
